To the Heavenly abode

“Death is more than falling blindly into the arms of God.” –St. Maria Maravillas Of Jesus.

Our beloved  Sr. Maria Frank slips into His abode peacefully on the 21stof September 2023, after spending 78 years, out of which 45 years are lived as Carmelite Missionary in the Province of St Francis Xavier, India.

September 1945 at Ahmedabad. She was the youngest daughter of Domingo Salvador and Maria Aurora D’Souza. She was blessed with three sisters and a brother of whom two sisters are in heaven. She followed her older sister Sr.Antoinette Frank  who inspired her to join Carmelite Missionaries, she entered the same in the year 1975. She made her first Profession on 4thJanuary 1978 and perpetual vows on the 13thMay 1984 at Prithi Kunj,Mumbai.

Sr. Maria Frank always been obedient and this was marked by the number of communities where she was asked to hold various responsibilities.

Sr.Maria Frank was a woman of veracity, strong in faith, with an unwavering trust in God.She loved to spend time in prayer, meditation and silence. She was humble, loving, kind, always cheerful, making others smile with her witand humour, while she endured her pains and sufferings in silence. She was courageous, optimistic, caring and hospitable, with good leadership qualities that we have witnessed.

Sr. Maria had a passion for teaching and for the pastoral work. She loved to work with the youth and was known for her punctuality, regularity and perfection in whatever she did. When she was detected with cancer in 2003,she resigned to the will of God as she took care of herself and continued to render her services in different communities. She battled with cancer for the past 21 years. No doubt, she was a person of God and endured all the sufferings silently and joyfully for many years and offered to the Lord.

Thank you dear sister for all that you have been to the Church and to Our Congregation. May your sour rest in peace.
