                                                          Season Of Creation

The Season of creation is the day of annual Christian celebration for our common home.  It’s the day we pray together as one family. It commence form 1st September to 4th October every year. The theme given is “A home for all?  Renewing the home of God.” The symbol given for the year was “Abraham’s tent” symbolizes our commitment to safeguard a place for all who share our common home just as Abraham did in the book of Genesis.

The season of creation invited us to think that this earth is our home too. God our father in heaven has given it to us freely so it’s our turn to keep this relationship with our mother earth healthy. This calls us to go back to our rich Charism “Communion with God, with self, with others, and with the nature. Everything comes from the creator and Gods hand is in everything, finally it’s our duty to protect our mother earth. It’s high time for us human to become aware of all that we have in our surroundings from the tiniest to the greatest. We cannot comprehend the wonders and grandeurs God gave to us through His creation yet, who could have thought the ground we stand on could be so fragile. The interference of human have cause havoc as well as disastrous which causes ecological imbalance and instability. Our future generation needs all the elements of the earth in the future as much as we have received it now.

The earth is not an ordinary world it’s like diamond in the universe, its God’s heaven poetry to us. It’s time for us to do our best when our mother earth is in stress, in pain, and crying for the air to breath. It calls us to realize that too much of greediness harms the environment and will affect our future generation. The cry of the creation which is our mother earth should reach every corner of the world. As a Christians or a religious what is my responsibility to protect mother earth? How do I strengthened my relationship with our mother earth? Do I as a person or a community contribute to the welfare of the mother earth or am I ignorant and not worried about the cry of mother earth.

We at the community of Dediapada,  tried to create awareness among the boarders and the neighbourhood children regarding the protection of the environment and the care of our common home – Mother Earth.

We tried to inculcate the habit of nurturing for greenery by planting trees and thus promote pollution control and also create awareness regarding global warming and the ozone depletion, The hazards caused by the haphazard use of plastic and the littering of it all around the planet brings about hazardous effects on the health of the common man leading to cancer and other serious ailments which causes harm to the lifestyle of the people and reduces life expectancy and also decreases the daily     work of the people .

Ruby jubilee celebration of Sr. Emilda

My vocation is as sacred as the days passed and destiny brought me at the wide open door of Carmelite Missionaries. I was going through various stages of formation which was a foundation for the rest of my life of formation. My life was an open book to my superiors. I walked in obedience and discovered that religious life is not what I want to do but what I want to be as a self-offering to God. The formative period was tried, hoisted and tested with many trials in such a way was not a waste.

All those moments passed unnoticed quietly and quickly and Jesus accompanied being my only rock of stronghold and prayer was the source of strength.

As I look back of the completion of 40 years of religious life I greatly appreciate my vocation more than ever. I am so happy that nothing can make me happier. I am deeply grateful to my superiors, sisters in community for confidence repose in me and the opportunities that they offered me to serve the Lord and at the service of the Church.
