A MAN BORN FOR A MISSION

I WILL GO WHEREVER THE GLORY OF GOD CALLS ME”

                                                                    - BLE. FRANCISCO PALAU

EVERY MAN IS A CHILD OF HIS OWN TIMES. NO ONE CAN BLAME FOR BEING BORN INTO PARTICULAR HISTORICAL CIRCUMSTNACES.

IT IS SAID THAT WHAT DO WITH WHAT YOU’VE GOT THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE. FRANCISCO PALAU WAS NOT DIFFERENT FROM THE REST OF MEN IN BEING BORN A CHILD OF HIS TIMES.

WHAT SET HIM APART IN THAT TROUBLED AGE WAS HIS CLEAR AWARNESS, THE EAGER WAY IN WHICH HE STUDIED THE SIGNS OF HIS TIMES, AND HIS DETERMINED AND CREATIVE RESPONSE TO THEM.

HE FULLY REALIZED HIS HUMANITY AND JUSTLY OCCUPIES A PLACE AMONG THE GREAT FIGURES OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY.

Sports day for women in Bangalore

On 17th & 18th December 2012 we had sports day for the women of Self Help Groups (SHG) of Kanti Kiranam Centre in the Corporation Ground of J.P.Nagar 2nd Phase. As we have 77 SHGs of 1,300 women, we divided them according to the area wise as we cannot have it on one day for all, we had the sports on two days for them. We had number of games in which the women participated in big number and in an enthusiastic manner. The organizers are Srs. Sahaye and Beena along with the staff of the centre and off course our Postulants were the volunteers for both the days, including the whole community was involved. The ladies not only won the prizes for their talents, but also they enjoyed playing and being together as women empowered in their dignity as women.

Christmas celebration in Bangalore

On 20th of this month we had the Christmas celebration for the poor children of our vicinity in the centre. Majority of them do not know our faith yet. Sisters and our Postulants prepared the children with Christmas skit, which they did wonderfully. The Montfort Fathers and brothers joined in Carol singing which added more joy to the celebration. Santa brought plenty of sweets for the kids which made them really happy. Through the different symbols of the crib in a simple way Fr.Michael Sahyraj SMM shared the message of Christmas how the birth of Jesus brought the love, joy and peace to the world and how we need to be the real witnesses of Christ and His values during this Year of Faith.

MONTH OF MARY - BL. FRANCISCO PALAU The celebration of the Month of May is a important devotion. However Bl. Francisco Palau did not want it to be a mere pious exercise without serious effect on the life of the people. Therefore he wrote the book the Month of Mary in order to renew the church and give it practical vitality.

LET US ALLOW JESUS TO BE BORN IN US

Once again this year celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ who is God’s love incarnated in our human flesh. He is love personified to save mankind from the bondage of sin. But we see around us so much of human misery due to sin, that is personal and communitarian sin. This we experience even in our own flesh and in the world that surrounds us. Do we feel the need of Jesus to be born again this Christmas in our own heart and in the heart of our brothers and sisters around us in order that this world can be little better place to live in? Let’s ask the Lord earnestly in this Year of Faith, to be born anew in us this Christmas and we may rekindle in ourselves and around us that true love, joy and simplicity which the Babe of Bethlehem brought to this world.

FEAST OF ST.JOHN OF THE CROSS

Where have you hidden,

       Beloved, and left me moaning?

       You fled like the stag

       after wounding me;

I went out calling you, but you were gone.

(C, 1)

St. John of the Cross, this great lover of God, was a "child of love" in the truest sense of the word.

Love is at the heart of the spirituality of St. John of the Cross.

"In you O Lord, I take refuge, let me not be lost forever"
(The last words uttered by this great saint when he was dying in divine love )

Today we the Carmelite Missionaries in India celebrated the feast of our patron saint. As we are celebrating the year of faith, let these be our prayer for our prayer for each member of our province "In you o Lord! we take refuge, let us be not lost forever".
