HOLY THURSDAY

The Church celebrates in her liturgy the Last Supper on Thursday of Holy Week, to recall the time Our Lord Jesus Christ gathered the Twelve Apostles during the Passover season. Jesus, with his community, celebrated the institution of the Eucharist during his Last Supper. The actions and words of Our Lord at the Last Supper laid the foundations of the new messianic community, the People of the New Covenant in Christ.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another"- John 13:34

Jesus sets an example by washing the feet of the disciples. In today's context, we are not asked to wash the feet of one another rather accept one another just the way we are. Jesus loved every person, safeguarded their dignity no matter what they were. If we look into His circle of friends, we know that there were prostitutes, tax collectors, fisher folk, thief and so on....yet He loved them to the end. He loves each one of us and he wants that we too love one another as he loved us.

May this Holy week be a moment of grace for one another to live in peace and love.

ST. JOSEPH THE POWERFUL INTERCESSOR

Here comes a story which tells us that St. Joseph is the most powerful intercessor. The story goes like this;
There was a man who lived his life in vain, drinking all the time and doing nothing. But he was a great devote of St. Joseph. He honored St. Joseph very much and was very faithful to pray to Him. One fine day the drunkard died and went to the gate of heaven and knocked at the door. St. Peter appeared solemnly and was shocked to see the drunkard at the gate heaven.
St. Peter: How dare you are to come here, you sinful man. Don’t you know that heaven is for such type of people? Your place is in hell. Go there and you will be welcomed.
The man: Ho! No, St. Peter, you are mistaken. I am supposed to be in heaven and that is why I have come here.
St. Peter: who told you that you are supposed to be in heaven?
The Man: it was St. Joseph who told me to come to heaven.
St. Peter: whoever must have told you but I will never allow you to enter into heaven.
(Meanwhile St. Joseph passed from there and heard his name being mentioned.)
St. Joseph: what happened peter? Can I help you in any way?
St. Peter: did you tell this man to come here?
St. Joseph: Oh! Yes…yes….indeed, I am the one who called him, he is a great devotee of mine.
St. Peter: well then, but I will never permit this man in.
(St. Joseph made a sign to the man to enter into heaven through the window. One fine day, as St. Peter was taking a walk, he was once again shocked to see the man inside.)
St. Peter: in spite of my warning, still how dare you are to enter into heaven. Just now get out.
The man: (with fear and trembling) don’t worry, I will get out, but please call St. Joseph, I will tell him and go.
St. Joseph: please allow this man to be in, I am the one who told him to come through the window.
St. Peter: if you cannot remain without this man, then you too may go out.
St. Joseph: Ok! If that is the case, I am ready to go out with him. By the way, I cannot go alone, I have to take my wife and my son along with me.
(Mary and Jesus were ready to go out with St. Joseph, as they were leaving heaven, St. Peter realizes his mistakes.)
St. Peter: ho! What is this? If you are not going to be here, then heaven will not be a heaven. Please forgive me and do not go away, along with you take this man too.
This does not mean that we can do anything and pray to St.Joseph, but the moral of the story is that God does not want any of his children to be lost.

(Greetings from the provincial of the Carmelite Missioanries )
On the solemnity of St. Joseph let us turn our gaze towards him a man of no words but great deeds. In this noisy world of ours it is good that we learn to appreciate and practice the spirit of silence and surrender. St. Joseph realized his worth in listening to the gentle voice of an angel and rendered his service to Mary and Jesus without counting the cost. Let pray that St. Joseph will intercede for each one of us who desire to be humble and pleasing people at the sight of God.
Happy  Feast to all of you

POPE FRANCIS I

The man who will move into the 10-room papal residence inside the vaulted gates of the Holy See lives in a simple, austere apartment across from the Cathedral of Buenos Aires.
In a city with a taste for luxury and status, he frequently prepares his own meals and abandoned the limousine of his high office to hop on “el micro” – Argentine slang for the bus.
A staunch conservative and devout Jesuit in Latin America’s most socially progressive nation, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, now Pope Francis, is an almost Solomonesque choice by the princes of the church.
The 76-year-old hails from a country and a continent where the once powerful voice of the church is increasingly falling flat, losing ground – as it is in Europe – to a tide of more permissive and pragmatic faiths and to fast-rising secularism. He gives voice to a church whose centre of global gravity is increasingly shifting south.
But the first Latin American pope also represents a cultural bridge between two worlds – the son of Italian immigrants in a country regarded by some as the New World colony Italy never had. For many Italians, his heritage makes him the next best thing to the return of an Italian pope.

PROUD TO BE A WOMAN

AS WE CELEBRATE THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE NEED TO PUT DOWN MEN. IT DOES NOT MEAN TO SEE WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED AND WHAT WE HAVE NOT. IT ALL MEANS THAT WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF BEING A WOMAN AND REALIZE THE TREASURE THAT IS HIDDEN WITHIN US AND APPRECIATE ONESELF.

Fr.Francisco Palau- The founder of carmelite missionaries

WE THE CARMELITE MISSIONARIES, FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF OUR FR.FOUNDER, HAVE LEFT OUR FAMILIES AND HAVE SET OUT TO SERVE THE HUMANITY. WE ARE PROUD TO BE WHAT WE ARE. WE HAVE COME TO APPRECIATE OURSELVES AND ARE WORKING FOR THE WOMEN TO REALIZE THEIR POWER OF BEING A WOMAN.

WE NEED TO HELP THE WOMEN TO HOLD THEIR HEAD ON HIGH. THE CARMELITE MISSIONARIES HAVE REACHED THE INTERIOR PART OF THE VILLAGES TO HELP THE WOMEN WHO THOUGHT TO BE THE CARE TAKER OF THE KITCHEN ALONE.

WOMAN HAS THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD AS SHE WISHES. BY HELPING THE WOMEN, WE CAN CREATE A JUST AND A CARING SOCIETY.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP THE GIRL CHILD TO GROW IN DIGNITY AND IN WISDOM.

ALL THOSE WHO ARE PROUD TO BE A WOMAN, LET US JOIN HANDS TOGETHER TO REACHOUT TO THOSE SISTERS OF OURS WHO ARE STILL UNDER OPPRESSION.

HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY
